Common Questions
How long does the assessment process take?
Typically, the process takes between 4 to 6 months. This allows us to get to know you, conduct required checks, and provide you with the training you need to feel confident and ready.
Do I get paid for fostering?
Yes. Foster carers receive a professional allowance designed to cover the costs of caring for a child and to provide you with an income for the professional work you do.
Can I foster if I work full-time?
Many of our foster carers work part-time or have flexible arrangements. The key requirement is that you can meet the needs of the child placed with you. We'll discuss this during your assessment.
Do I need a spare room?
Yes, every foster child needs their own bedroom. This is a regulatory requirement to ensure the child has their own safe, personal space in your home.
